Pinterest video pins are some of the best short-form inspiration on the internet — recipes, design walkthroughs, product demos. The problem is that Pinterest doesn't give you a download button, and most "save" tricks end up with a watermarked screen recording.
The one-click way
Copy the pin link (Share → Copy link, or just the URL bar on desktop), paste it into Pindown, and pick the quality you want. We resolve the original MP4 rendition directly from Pinterest's CDN — no watermark, no re-encode.
Why MP4 and not HLS
Pinterest serves video in two formats. HLS (.m3u8) is a streaming playlist, great for the website's player but useless as a file — most devices can't play or save it. MP4 is the universal video container. Pindown always converts to the matching MP4 rendition (480p, 720p, 1080p) so the file just works in your phone's gallery, in iMovie, in Premiere, anywhere.
Quick tips
- Idea pins (the multi-slide kind) save as a video too — you get the whole sequence in one file.
- If a pin is private or the board is secret, we can't reach it. The video has to be on a public pin.
- For boards with dozens of videos, paste the board URL into our bulk downloader instead.
